| After a tight first half the League side was looking good for another Grand Final birth as part way through the third quarter held a handy four goal lead. No one knows what happened next as the boys stopped and from half way through the third to the last siren the Bays slammed on ten goals to one and but a dampner on what was shaping up to be a great finish for the day. Very ordinary performance and the same old story of no one standing up when its needed. The Reserves progressed to their first Grand Final appearance in 16 years as it matched, then over ran the Bays. The boys were hard at it all day putting their heads over the ball and not taking a backward step from the physical encounter. Good blend of players have come together this year and have gelled nicely and have thoroughly deserved their spot in the Final next week against Roopena. The U17s went through to their 3rd Grand Final in a row and now have a re-match with North on Saturday. The boys played some really good football throughout the game and when needed put the foot down on the pedal to run away from a dogged Roopena team. The form of the boys has been great over the last 2 months and its sure to be one hell of a final's match Well Done to Both of the Westie sides for making the grand Final and from everyone at Westies wish the all the best on Saturday. |

| The U12s did the club proud on the weekend winning the Premiership for 2010. Westies played Roopena and after a tough first half, a three goals in two and a half minutes to open up the third quarter was the difference as the boys dug in from there on in not letting Roopena back into the game. West 7.10 (52) to Roopena 4.9 (33) Congratulations to Remy Starkey who was awarded the medal for Best on Ground in the Grand Final... On behalf of everyone at Westies Congratulations and Well Done !!!! |
